A New Chapter in Madrid

It’s a journey through people, places, and emotions.
From Madrid’s streets to Spain’s hidden corners capturing the essence of what makes this country so human, vibrant, and alive.

Spain has become my home, my inspiration, and my creative playground.
When I arrived in Madrid on January 16, 2023 — with seven suitcases, not knowing anyone, barely speaking Spanish, and no clear plan — I had no idea how much this country would change me. After my first major project, One Year in Madrid — a daily photo diary shot entirely on my iPhone — I felt the need to slow down, to look deeper, to rediscover storytelling through light, patience, and presence.
A New Chapter in Spain is my next step — a series of black‑and‑white analog photographs shot in 6×6 format with a Rolleicord camera and Ilford HP5+ film.
It’s a journey through people, places, and emotions — from Madrid’s streets to Spain’s hidden corners — capturing the essence of what makes this country so human, vibrant, and alive.

Why Analog Photography

Film photography teaches you to wait.
Each frame demands intention: the right light, the right moment, the right heartbeat.
There’s no rush — only focus, feeling, and trust.
With the Rolleicord’s square format and top‑down viewfinder, every image becomes intimate and personal, like a quiet dialogue between the photographer and the world.
This is not just documentation — it’s a way to listen to Spain through images.

The Vision

My dream is to tell stories — not just through photos, but through people.
Each portrait will be accompanied by a short interview or reflection, giving voice to those who live, create, and dream across Spain.
Through their stories, I want to reveal how this country shapes lives, emotions, and identities — including mine.
A New Chapter will grow into a living archive of Spain — its faces, its rhythm, its charisma, and its heart.

This project is more than photography.
It’s about memory, art, and connection — and about celebrating Spain as it is today, through the eyes of those who live it.

Thank you for being part of this story.
