From iPhone to Film: My New Chapter in Madrid

A few years ago, I created One Year in Madrid — one photo a day with just my iPhone. That project changed how I see this city and how I tell stories.
Now I want to take the next step: a new series in 6x6 black-and-white analog photography. Shot with a Rolleicord camera and Ilford HP5+ film, each image will be slower, more thoughtful, and more intimate. Film photography is about patience, light, and the beauty of waiting.

Madrid has been my home, my inspiration, and my creative playground for the last two and a half years.

I arrived on January 16th, 2023, with seven suitcases, not knowing anyone, barely speaking Spanish, and no clear plan. Madrid gave me new friends, emotions, passions, and above all, a new air to breathe.

This project is not only mine. It’s Madrid, its people, its rhythm, and its charisma.

To make it happen, I’m raising funds for the essentials: a Rolleicord, a light meter, and film rolls.

If you want to be part of this project, you can support me through the link madrid.lussana.me.

If your contribution is more than 25€, I’ll send you a print from the project — a piece of Madrid for your wall.

This is more than photography. It’s memory, it’s art, and it’s a way to celebrate the city we live in and love right now.
